Tandem Dark & Stormy Recipe

Fancy a cocktail? Granted, I think we offer some incredible food here, but we can also whip a few drinks out from time to time. Our bartenders regularly assemble outside gin bars, pour Pimms and mix specially requested cocktails, so we thought it was only right to share some of our recipes with you!

Dark n stormy rum based tipple

Below is our favourite recipe for the classic, Dark & Stormy. Given the weather of the previous weeks, I’m hoping it’s refreshing to read about a different type of storm. This Bermudan dark rum-based cocktail is found in any reputable bar but is actually really easy to make at home, and requires no fancy equipment. If you're looking for the best rum for a dark and stormy, then support your most local distillery; it's always best!

Dark & Stormy Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 50ml dark rum

  • 1 can ginger beer

  • 1/2 lime juiced

  • Extra slice of lime to garnish

  • 3 dashes angostura bitters

  • Cubed ice

Method:

  • Fill your highball glass with ice, then squeeze in your lime juice, pour in your measured rum and top with the ginger beer. Mix this all together then chuck your bitters in, garnish with the lime to make it look pretty and enjoy!

Caterer's Top Tip:

If you're doing this for loads of guest, prepare multiple jugs of this before they arrive. Typically, filling a jug 1/3 full with spirit then 2/3 of mixer gives a tasty outcome without you having to slave over measuring it out!

Not a fan of rum? Swap it out for vodka and then you have another fan’s favourite, Moscow Mule!
